Clash detection and triage
Every permit event is checked as it arrives, given a severity from Blocking to Low, and queued with the reason and the action to take.
The problem
A coordinator can see hundreds of live permits at once. Spotting the two that collide on the same street in the same week, or the one that closes a road outside a school at drop-off, depends on memory and luck.
What it does
- Runs four detectors on every incoming permit event: spatial overlap, Section 58, network impact and sensitive locations.
- Scores each clash Blocking, High, Medium or Low, and shows each permit’s worst severity and days remaining, with filters by severity, text and date.
- Explains each clash in plain English, with the conflicting permit reference and a recommended action.
- Early warning on Prior Approval Applications, before a full permit is submitted.
- Map view of the permit and its conflicts, and CSV export of the queue.
How the numbers are worked out
Every figure HighwayIQ shows can be traced back to Street Manager permit references. The full definitions are published.
Related capabilities
Section 58 protection
Protects newly resurfaced streets. Any permit that intersects a live Section 58 restriction is flagged as Blocking and placed in an alert queue.
AvailableS74 overrun alerts and exposure
Finds works running past their permitted end, calculates days over and the daily charge, and totals the authority’s overrun exposure.
AvailableWorks programme
A Gantt view of every works on a street or across an area, with planned and actual dates side by side and Section 58 corridors overlaid.
See it on your own network
We will load your authority’s live Street Manager data and walk through clashes, S58 and S74 exposure with your coordinators.
